Help with downloads, workbooks, purchases, accounts, and Built to Thrive© resources.
Built to Thrive provides educational guides, tools, templates, and workbooks for Canadian small business owners. This page explains how to get help if you have trouble accessing a resource, opening a file, finding an order, or understanding how a tool is intended to be used.
Download Help
If you purchased or downloaded a Built to Thrive resource, your access may be provided by:
- a download link on the order confirmation page
- an email confirmation
- your account page, if account access is enabled
- a direct download link connected to a free resource or toolkit
If you cannot find your download, try these steps first:
- Check your inbox for an order or download email.
- Check your spam, junk, promotions, or updates folder.
- Make sure you used the same email address entered at checkout or signup.
- Log in to your account, if you created one.
- Try the download link again using a current browser.
If the link still does not work, contact us with your name, order number, email address used at checkout, and the resource you were trying to access.
Workbook Compatibility
Some Built to Thrive tools are provided as Excel workbooks, spreadsheets, PDFs, or other downloadable files. Before purchasing or using a workbook, check the product page for the file type and intended software.
Built to Thrive workbooks are generally designed for use in Microsoft Excel unless the product page says otherwise.
Some formulas, dropdowns, formatting, tables, or workbook features may not work the same way in:
- Google Sheets
- Apple Numbers
- older versions of Excel
- mobile spreadsheet apps
- browser-only spreadsheet viewers
If you are using Google Sheets or Apple Numbers, the workbook may open, but some features may not behave exactly as intended.
If a file appears defective, corrupted, or inaccessible, contact support and we will review the issue.
Order and Account Help
If you made a purchase and cannot find your order, please check:
- the email address used at checkout
- your order confirmation email
- your account page, if you created an account
- whether the payment was completed successfully
When contacting us about an order, include:
- your full name
- order number, if available
- email address used at checkout
- product purchased
- date of purchase
- a brief description of the issue
This helps us locate the order faster.
Refund Questions
Built to Thrive products are primarily digital products. Because digital products cannot be returned in the same way as physical goods, downloaded or accessed digital products are generally non-refundable. Refunds may be considered where:
- you were charged more than once for the same product
- you purchased the wrong product and contacted us before downloading or accessing it
- the file was defective and we could not provide a working replacement
- you did not receive access because of a technical issue on our side
- there was a clear payment or order-processing error

Using the Guides and Tools
Built to Thrive resources are designed to work together.
- Guides explain what matters, why it matters, and what to do next.
- Tools help you apply the ideas through checklists, trackers, worksheets, templates, and workbooks.
- Explainers provide extra context for specific concepts, such as GST/HST, recordkeeping, expense tracking, owner payments, financial statements, or year-end preparation.
You do not need to use every resource at once. Start with the guide or tool that matches where you are now:
- If you are new or disorganized, start with Awareness resources.
- If money is already moving, start with Practice resources.
- If basic tracking is no longer enough, move toward Maturity resources.
